This is probably just the first of a couple of bluebonnet posts, we know it's a Texas tradition. Here is our first go at it:

Here is what Case thought about taking all of these pics...

easter egg hunt at tawakoni
Well, we had a great time as a family at Tawakoni this weekend. It was topped off Sunday with Case's first official Easter egg hunt. He was only about five days old last Easter, so none of us were very coherent for that one. Case liked to find two hard-boiled eggs and smash them together until he struck yolk...he loved it! Enjoy the pics...

fish on!
Allison must get it from her Dad, she outfishes me everytime she decides to go. She caught three keeper crappie Friday evening of our Tawakoni Easter weekend. She's not invited today, but she has already caught enough for her own meal...the top fish was a hair over 15 inches, the bottom was a solid 14. Nice slabs (talkin' about the fish). We ended up cleaning 37 on the weekend, yum.

And the race is on!!!!
IT'S RACE DAY
For the last couple of months Joey has been organizing a 5K on the Southwest Christian campus and today is the big day! I'm so proud of him, he has done an amazing job - who knew there was so much involved with putting together a race like this, but it is a big endeavor! The race will totally benefit Habitat for Humanity and later this week we (along with many SCS student council members) will take part in a Habitat project in Fort Worth. So, it's 6:30 am, Joey left and hour ago and Case and I are about to walk out the door....
Update 3/20/07 The 5k went perfectly! My husband is an amazing man!

A day off is a good thing...
Hey guys,
It's been a while since we've posted pictures, so we decided to overwhelm you a bit with this post. Joey had the day off so we cruised out to Glen Rose, ate some Ranch House Bar-B-Q and took some photos. Enjoy, we certainly did.

Fall Festival

Cloy and Melanie aka "Nanny and Papa" came to visit the weekend before Halloween. We spent the day in Glen Rose at their Fall Festival, and then ate at...you guessed it, The Ranch House! Case loved taking in the sights while masquerading as a "silly bug"!

Meeting Big Tex

Yep, you guessed it a trip to the one and only State Fair of Texas! On our way we visited two other Dallas icons - The Dallas Farmer's Market (which if you've never been could be misleading....it's smackdab in the middle of downtown Dallas)and the famous Metro Diner on Gaston Avenue. Initally, we learned about The Metro Diner from a photographer whose work we absolutely love...Allison V. Smith...anyway, interestingly while we were there we met another photographer, Phoenix Taylor, who has some very dark, but awesome work. www.myspace.com/phoenix_pae and www.dismantledred.com He loved Case- who was all smiles - and took some really cute pics of him. Another little interesting note, the diner just happens to be right across the street from Baylor College of Denistry (where my Dad went). I had never seen the school so that was fun too - neat to try to imagine what life was like 30+ years ago when my parents lived not too far from that very spot!
p.s. I'll add more pictures to this entry later!

Brazos Point

I bought this tub at an antique store (in Glen Rose actually - no, I'm not being paid to promote GR as much as it may seem that way) long before Case arrived. In fact long before we even knew he was on his way, but I purchased it with this exact picture in mind and the reality of it is even more wonderful! What a gift this little boy is and what a proud mama I am!

Sitting up is SWELL!

If I had known how much fun it would be to sit up I would have done it months ago! . . . well, maybe not! Here I am having fun playing with KK and Papa Doc after a fun trip to Glen Rose! We ate at the Ranchhouse and took in the sights!
