Boo at the Zoo . . . the princess & the pirate

Case told me months ago that he wanted to be a pirate for Halloween (Arghh!) and I must say I was pretty happy with the way his costume turned out. Emmalie was the cutest little Cinderella you've ever seen! These 2 always have a ball together!

TAG!

TAG you're it...

I've been tagged... Here are the rules:

1. Open your pictures folder.
2. Go to the sixth folder.
3. Open the sixth picture.
4. Import into your blog and tell the story.

Well, honestly this is not from the 6th folder....there are literally hundreds of picture folders on our computer because of Richards & Co. Photography. This pic, #6, is however from the 6th folder in our family hard drive. So...tell the story....this was taken in January of 2008, while we were still on Christmas break. Case had just gotten his little red wagon from KK & Papa Doc and we took it to a little park in Cleburne for a spin, and of course while we were there we had to play on the big green slide!

One Nation Under God . . .

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. 'If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything.'

Think about this: If you forward this prayer to everyone on your e-mail list, in less than 30 days it would be heard by the world. (It's worth a try!) One Nation Under God

my great grandma

SCS is off for Columbus Day, so we decided to take that extra day for a dash down to College Station to visit "Grandma". That is Mary Lynn - Joey's grandmother. We had a wonderful visit with Uncle Glenn, Laurel and her friend Beth, and were glad to see Grandma feeling great and getting fired up for her trip to Germany this week with Aunt Dinetha. Case and Grandma hit it off and played all afternoon, kisses were plentiful at the end of the day and Case was upset to have to leave. Enjoy the pics!

Well, Case and daddy have the same haircut...for right now. Allison asked me to give him a trim - I guess I did not know when to stop. Here's a pic of the new do while we were playing with Mr. Potato Head this morning.

yakin'

Case had his first kayak experience Sunday at Benbrook Lake. Actually, it was the first time in 3 years that I had been in my kayak...since we found out Case was on his way! We had BIG fun paddling around...we saw Cormorants, Coots, and Gulls... some fish surfacing and Case and Joey swam for a few minutes. Afterwards we commemorated Case's first kayak trip with lunch at Schlotsky's (which I craved constantly when I was pregnant with Case). YUM!

"wittle gym" and "oodles" of fun!

After attending a trial class with Mandy & Merrick last week we joined The Little Gym today. Our two classes have been great! Pictures to come...

We also made a super-fun purchase at Gymboree today. Brett (teacher at Little Gym) blows these teeny, fun bubbles at the end of each class and Case goes bonkers for them! So, after class we made a trip to Gymboree to buy the same "bubble oodles" Only $6...so exciting! Go get some... whether you have kiddos or not, they'll put a smile on your face!

closing ceremonies

...through tears this last blog comes from an absoulutely empty house on Remington Drive in Cleburne Texas. What a tough day...an emotional roller-coaster...all the memories...laughter, tears, the birth of our son, too many sweat equity projects to even count, special, special times. We are unbelievably grateful to God for giving us this home and the wonderful times here in Cleburne. So today we are officially ending one chapter and look forward to living the next chapter that God has already written. There are so many people whom we will miss seeing regularly!

Oddly enough today, the day of our "closing ceremony", also marks the end of the 2008Beijing Olympic Games.

Hallelujah!

We closed on our house today!
God is good!

thank you for all your prayers, e-mails, and calls. We still don't know much about where we stand as far as the sale of our home goes...

just to keep you updated...

We were scheduled to close yesterday. However, that didn't happen. Honestly, we don't know what is going on. We've been told it is because of a tiny credit issue with our buyer that is from "a long time ago". They rescheduled our closing for next Friday. We are confident that we didn't close yesterday because there is a plan much more perfect than ours and maybe we'll understand it here in a few weeks, and maybe we won't.

We covet your prayers for closing next week as scheduled, that our realtor, their realtor and the lender,loan officer and closing agent will all have their best foot forward and work hard to make this happen. It has been a long journey (a year on the market...two other contracts that have fallen through b/c of financing) At this point, most of our belongings are in storage and we just really don't want to have to put the house back on the market and retrieve enough of our things from storage to maintain a semi-normal existence. That prospect seems agonizing especially given the fact that school is starting at SCS very soon.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3, 5-6

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

closer to closing...

I am quite sure that Allison is feeling that closing date closing in...my evidence? We had a garage sale this weekend. Never before in her life has she had anything to do with a garage sale. Then Wednesday of this past week she said, "I'm going to put an ad in the paper, get a permit, and have a garage sale...Saturday!" She has been a warrior lately, packing up boxes on a regular basis, staying up late, and making trips to the storage unit in Ft. Worth. But given the information that I was having oral surgery on Friday and she picked the very next day for the garage sale, I have come to the conclusion that the prospect of moving to Ft. Worth has caused something not all-that-unlike her maternal craziness that kicked in just before Case arrived in April of '06. It is actually pretty magical to watch, especially if you are on a regular diet of Tylenol 4 pills...
Here is a picture from the garage sale...she made a pretty good chunk of change, I might add. That's my girl.
