We made our second visit to the FWM of Science & History this afternoon and as usual, we had a lot of fun. They have lots of hands-on experiences for the little guys which prompted us to become members a couple of weeks ago. We chose to get a level of membership that allows us entrance for 5 - so come on grandparents! We are ready for you! Enjoy a few pics from today! You might notice a fierce example of Case's karate moves - you'll have to ask him about his new karate class!

Cake Bites for SCS!

Hi Everyone! Thank you for taking a second to look at our blog. We had a great time this weekend making these cake bites for you all. I figured I would need to provide some photographic evidence of the fact that this truly was a family affair! We all had a hand in making them, and since they have been cooked I assume that they are safe to eat. They are red velvet with cream cheese icing coated with vanilla or chocolate almond bark. Here's the process (just so you will appreciate them a bit more) 1.)Bake the cake and crumble it after it is done 2.)Add the cream cheese icing to the crumbled cake, mix well 3.)Freeze mixture 4.)Take the mixture out and form the cake bites, refreeze after putting them on a skewer 5.)Melt the almond bark, spoon the bark onto the cake bites individually, tap (don't spin) off the excess icing, sprinkle with toppings immediately (they harden really fast). The pics that I have give some idea about the process. Just know that we had a great time making them and we hope that you enjoy them! We wish you and yours a merry Christmas, we thank God for you and for the chance to be a part of the SCS family.

...ate lots of great food, enjoyed time with our family...we're blessed!
We made the "Texas Tour" for Thanksgiving....started out with the Richards & Hodge bunch in Clarendon, TX @ The High Card Ranch...and ended in Abilene and at Papa Doc & KK's ranch. Wild turkeys all over the great state of Texas are now in fear of Case. ;)

happy halloween!
We had a great time tonight at the Trinity Chapel Bible Church "Trunk or Treat." Case thought the fire truck and the bounce houses were the coolest! We just finished dinner, ate some candy, and now are in the process of brushing teeth! Happy Halloween everybody!

hey wook!
Allison and I were cleaning up after dinner (and by that I mean Allison was cleaning up and I was watching TV), and Case yells out, "Hey wook! Texas!" while eating a post-dinner sucker...and by God - check it out!

School Days, school days

Case is loving the 3 year old class at Playhouse Academy. We miss Ms. Alaine, but have fallen in love with Ms. Becky! ♥

rockport pics

We had an awesome time down in Rockport with KK & Papa Doc - here are a couple of pics. Shrimp right off the boat ($5/lb), Case on the beach, Cheeto-snatching gulls, Charlotte Plummer's, all equalled a trip we won't soon forget.

botanic excursion

We had a good time as a family before and after a senior session today. Snapped a few shots before the senior arrived and had a ball picking out various parts of the botanic gardens that we would like to go ahead and transplant to our backyard - I am sure all of the Fort Worth natives wouldn't mind.

Let me preface this by saying:
1. I am not a political enthusiast
2. I am a Christian
3. I am a mother
With that being said, I am a little stressed about the election & it really has nothing to do with partisanship.
This arrived in my inbox by way of a good friend's mom.
As I stressed over a lack of Christian influence in the White House, partial birth abortion and other such atrocities this was the gentle reminder that I needed. . .
TOP 10 PREDICTIONS NO MATTER WHO WINS THE ELECTION
1. The Bible will still have all the answers.
2. Prayer will still work.
3. The Holy Spirit will still move.
4. God will still inhabit the praises of His people.
5. There will still be God-anointed teaching and healing.
6. There will still be singing of praise to God.
7. God will still pour out blessings upon His people.
8. There will still be room at the Cross.
9. Jesus will still love you.
10. Jesus will still save the lost.
ISN'T IT GREAT TO KNOW WHO IS REALLY IN CONTROL?!!!!
